Pakistan actress and Mohammad Asif’s former girlfriend not only made it to India’s version of Big Brother but also, did not waste time in letting the world know who Asif really is.
Veena Mallik entered the Bigg Boss 4 television reality show, dancing to Bollywood numbers. But once out of costume, the real Veena spoke out about the man Asif is and of her relationship with the Pakistan cricketer, stuck in the midst of a spot fixing scandal, who is currently celebrating his six month wedding to Sana Hilal.
Veena called Asif an alcoholic, a drug addict, a womanizer who resorted to violence to show who was the man of the house. Veena claimed she was involved in another relationship when she met the Pakistan fast bowler at the lowest point in his career. Veena claims she helped Asif back on his feet, paying her way for his rehabilitation back into the Pakistan cricket team. But she claims that the relationship was abusive, that Asif was diagnosed with Multiple Personality Disorder and that he forgot all about Veena’s generosity and dismissed owing her any money.
Veena first gained audience with Indian television when she went on record to say she had evidence to prove Asif was involved in match fixing. Her popularity on television and penchant for speaking out caught the attention of the reality show who has wanted to milk TRPs from controversies which explains the huge percentage of characters of dubious repute on the show which has led to criticism as also the fact that there was two Pakistanis, including Veena Mallik, on the show that has caught the show’s producers in the cross hairs of fundamentalist political parties in India who want them out of the show.
