Of Veena Mallik, Pamela Anderson in Bigg Boss; What Does Pakistan Cricket Have to Do with It?

   From the seriousness of match fixing allegations, the issues revolving around Veena Mallik have quickly taken a rather flimsy turn for the worse. Suddenly, the cricketers are lining up but it is not for Mohammad Asif’s ex-girlfriend, much to her disappointment (and that would be a good guess).

    Veena Mallik was on the news channels not two months as they seriously grilled her with the hope that she could tell what the ICC could not unearth. The Pakistan actress went about telling everyone she had enough evidence against Asif to nail him for match fixing but went too far naming Dheeraj Dixit, a freelance photographer, as a liaison only to have him counter punch by suggesting she was a king pin herself for six or seven Pakistan cricketers. That issue involving three Pakistan cricketers is still on hold.

     But Veena Mallik has left it all behind when she entered Indian television’s Big Brother equivalent reality television drama, Bigg Boss 4. After interspersing between tears and fury and sheer indulgence when slamming the Pakistan fast bowler for a torrid relationship, Veena’s search for comforting arms within the Bigg Boss House seems to have yielded yet another equally relationship-for-publicity hungry, Ashmit Patel, a little known Bollywood actor whose real claim to fame is a scandalous MMS clip that involved intimate moments between him and ex-girlfriend, Riya Sen.

       However, Veena was not done head banging, confessing to the notorious riot, Dolly Bindra, about Ashmit being “forceful” during the couple’s intimate moments. She even expressed interest in another little known entity, Hrishant Goswami, only to have the latter tell her in no uncertain terms that relationships were not his thing. And Veena has certainly grabbed eyeballs because while claiming to be toying with a broken heart, she is setting the house on fire with Ashmit. (Suffice it to say, television audience are as confused about Veena’s intentions as they re about what is really going on with Pakistan cricket.)

         All this drama is being explained to only underline just how bizarre the situation has got wherein Veena was supposed to be a credible witness in the matter that has rocked cricket but her recent behavior and volte face are putting her character and integrity on the line and oen would think the only reason Asif will feel bad he is not in the house himself to silence her is because Baywatch babe and Playboy playmate, Pamela Anderson, is set to step into the house herself. And it is being billed a cat fight for attention between Pamela and Veena and that, it has to be said, is quite a step up for Veena in terms of desperately seeking attention starlets. That alone may be Veena’s final act of revenge against Asif.
