@theashes: "I am not a freaking cricket match.." Find Out More...

by Sreelata S. Yellamrazu

@theashes. That is a Twitter handle. But it is not the address to the latest Ashes updates and action. Instead the Twitter handle apparently belongs to a Massachusetts woman whose anger is apparently melting away in view of cashing in on the unsuspecting fame.

The news world is abuzz with the Twitter handle creating quite the riot. And not the initial amusement of the lady in question who has described the unnecessary and deliberate intrusion as "annoying and rude". That however has apparently not stopped people from passing on the link and handle as the one that will let the world know on what is happening in Test cricket's most traditional contest.

The lady is even quoted as posting a tweet to the effect:

"I am not a freaking cricket match."

But apparently that is not where the buck stops. The lady is now receiving offers to fly to Australia to learn what a real cricket match is at the expense of Qantas airlines. She is said to be looking to expand her own business through the enlarged following list while more commercial interests are also said to be tapping into the lady's unexpected popularity.

Talk about the Ashes 2010 down under ( Australia for others ) creating a financial windfall for a women in the U.S. That should get America talking about cricket for a change.
